"Variety is the spice of life" doesn't mean if you open up your kitchen cabinet, there is a different seasoning that falls out onto you. If this is the case, it's thyme to reorganize. Why yes I did just say that. Here's what I did and I'll never go back to the landslide method.
Step 1: Get yourself some magnetic seasoning containers. I got Bed, Bath, & Beyond magnetic seasoning tins that have caps with holes that act as shakers. Also got these IKEA magnetic seasoning tins that you unscrew and spoon out the seasonings.

Step 2: Throw out anything expired or has leaked everywhere. Simultaneously, make a list and get all the new seasonings you need.
Step 3: Pour your seasoning into each container and label it with its name and expiration date. (Quick list of shelf lives if you don't have an expiration date.) If you have a lot of seasonings, just pour the ones you use the most. The rest can go back into the cabinet of doom.
Step 4: Alphabetize the magnetic tins and place on your fridge, magnetic backsplash, or wherever you have a flat magnetic surface... but try to avoid doors. (These are magnets, not screws and a slammed door can be disastrous.) Make sure the names are facing the same direction.
Step 5: Voila! Donezo. Now you can grab your seasoning without getting a-salt-ed. Ya. I really went there. Again.
Oh, look, you also made modern art. Good on you!
